Humane Society Naples (HSN) has issued an RFP seeking a firm to provide investment management services for approximately $11 million in investments, Executive Director Sarah Baeckler Davis said.

The Naples, Fla.-based organization issued the RFP for standard due diligence as its board of directors looks to survey the investment management market every five to ten years and because it is looking to consolidate to one manager from two, Davis said. She declined to provide the names of the incumbent investment managers, but noted they are allowed to submit proposals.

The nonprofit is also conducting the search as it looks “to take a more holistic approach to managing and growing its funds,” according to the RFP. The organization is interested in reviewing proposals from firms that also offer banking and lending services, although it is not a requirement to submit a proposal.

HSN has historically invested a small portion of its investments, approximately $1.5 million, aggressively, while holding the remainder, approximately $9.5 million, with a long-term view, according to the RFP. The organization’s investment policy statement is available here.

The complete RFP is available on the organization’s website and the deadline for proposals is July 15.

The organization expects to select three finalists by Aug. 15, with the firms slated to make 20-minute presentations to the board of directors on Aug. 21, according to the RFP.

The board of directors expects to make a decision on Aug. 22, with the completion of asset transfers anticipated by Oct. 1, the RFP states.
