Matthew Rothfleisch has joined alternative investment manager Atalaya Capital Management as a partner, the firm announced.

Rothfleisch is responsible for corporate investments across Atalaya’s platform, according to his biography on the firm’s website. The firm now has six partners as a result of his addition.

He has been with the firm since April, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Rothfleisch most recently founded alternative asset management firm Rotation Capital, where he served as the company’s ceo and cio, and previously worked with Atalaya CEO Ivan Zinn and other members of the firm at Highbridge Capital Management’s special opportunities business in 2002, the firm said.

“Having worked with Matt for many years—both as a colleague and a co-investor, I can personally attest to his abilities,” Zinn said, in a statement. “His significant and expansive understanding, experience and contacts in the markets will be a tremendous asset for Atalaya.”

New York-based Atalaya has more than $5 billion in assets under management, the firm said.
